Adem\u00e1s, indic\u00f3 que cerca de 1.100 personas requieren diariamente este procedimiento para tratamientos en unidades de cuidados intensivos, servicios de urgencias, cirug\u00edas, pacientes con c\u00e1ncer, enfermedades hematol\u00f3gicas, trasplantes y complicaciones durante el embarazo y el parto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seg\u00fan el INS, los j\u00f3venes entre los 18 y 34 a\u00f1os contin\u00faan siendo quienes m\u00e1s donan sangre en Colombia, al representar el 50,6 % de los donantes. Bogot\u00e1 y Santander registran las mayores tasas de donaci\u00f3n, seguidos por Atl\u00e1ntico, Huila, Caldas, Risaralda y Tolima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El Instituto record\u00f3 que, aunque el grupo sangu\u00edneo O positivo es el m\u00e1s com\u00fan, existen tipos de sangre con mayor dificultad de abastecimiento, como el O negativo y el AB para plasma.
