La Federaci\u00f3n Colombiana de Ganaderos (Fedeg\u00e1n) report\u00f3 p\u00e9rdidas por $75.327 millones para el sector ganadero colombiano durante los \u00faltimos 86 d\u00edas, como consecuencia de los efectos del fen\u00f3meno de El Ni\u00f1o, las altas temperaturas, las inundaciones y los incendios registrados en diferentes regiones del pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seg\u00fan Jos\u00e9 F\u00e9lix Lafaurie Rivera, presidente ejecutivo de Fedeg\u00e1n, las afectaciones se han presentado en 19 departamentos, lo que representa cerca del 60 % del territorio nacional. Entre las regiones impactadas se encuentran Atl\u00e1ntico, Magdalena, Bol\u00edvar, Cesar, La Guajira, Tolima, Huila, Sucre, Meta, Boyac\u00e1, Santander, Norte de Santander, Caquet\u00e1, Arauca, Casanare, Caldas, Cauca, Valle del Cauca y Nari\u00f1o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Del total de las p\u00e9rdidas reportadas, $70.833 millones corresponden a las afectaciones relacionadas con el fen\u00f3meno de El Ni\u00f1o, incluyendo la muerte de bovinos, la reducci\u00f3n en la producci\u00f3n de carne, leche y derivados l\u00e1cteos, as\u00ed como los costos generados por el desplazamiento de animales. Por su parte, los incendios han ocasionado p\u00e9rdidas por $4.494 millones debido a la muerte de animales, la p\u00e9rdida de producci\u00f3n y los costos adicionales para atender los animales en riesgo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entre los departamentos m\u00e1s afectados por los incendios se encuentra Tolima, donde 47 municipios han registrado m\u00e1s de 27.500 hect\u00e1reas afectadas y m\u00e1s de 183.000 animales en alto riesgo. Norte de Santander tambi\u00e9n presenta importantes impactos por las emergencias. En cuanto a los efectos del fen\u00f3meno de El Ni\u00f1o, Magdalena, Sucre y La Guajira figuran entre los territorios con mayores afectaciones, con miles de bovinos muertos y cientos de miles de hect\u00e1reas impactadas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ante este panorama, Fedeg\u00e1n reiter\u00f3 su llamado al Gobierno Nacional para implementar una pol\u00edtica permanente de gesti\u00f3n del riesgo y prevenci\u00f3n que permita proteger la actividad ganadera y el patrimonio de miles de familias productoras.
