Durante 2025, el departamento notific\u00f3 35 casos en menores de 18 a\u00f1os hasta la semana epidemiol\u00f3gica 44, de los cuales 18 correspondieron a leucemia linfoide aguda, equivalente al 52 % del total. A nivel nacional, la tasa estimada de c\u00e1ncer confirmado en menores de edad fue de 11,5 casos por cada 100.000 menores, seg\u00fan datos preliminares del Instituto Nacional de Salud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Las cifras regionales tambi\u00e9n muestran la gravedad del panorama. A la semana epidemiol\u00f3gica 40, el Huila registraba una incidencia acumulada de 7,9 casos por cada 100.000 menores de 18 a\u00f1os, con 27 nuevos diagn\u00f3sticos. Adem\u00e1s, durante 2025 se reportaron 15 defunciones asociadas al c\u00e1ncer infantil, para una tasa de mortalidad de 4,1 por cada 100.000 menores. Ante esta realidad, especialistas insisten en la importancia de identificar las se\u00f1ales de alarma y garantizar una atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica oportuna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fiebre prolongada sin una causa aparente, palidez, sangrados, aparici\u00f3n de masas o ganglios que persisten, dolor \u00f3seo, p\u00e9rdida de peso, alteraciones neurol\u00f3gicas y cambios en los ojos son algunos de los signos que requieren valoraci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica. Aunque el c\u00e1ncer infantil generalmente no puede prevenirse mediante cambios en el estilo de vida, un diagn\u00f3stico temprano, acompa\u00f1ado de tratamiento especializado y atenci\u00f3n integral, puede cambiar significativamente el pron\u00f3stico. La hemato-onc\u00f3loga pediatra Mar\u00eda Camila Suaza Vallejo destac\u00f3 la importancia de generar estos espacios para fortalecer el conocimiento m\u00e9dico y avanzar en una atenci\u00f3n cada vez m\u00e1s oportuna para los pacientes de la regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La jornada acad\u00e9mica contar\u00e1 con tres espacios que se desarrollar\u00e1n de manera simult\u00e1nea y estar\u00e1n enfocados en hematolog\u00eda y oncolog\u00eda, hemato-oncolog\u00eda pedi\u00e1trica y soporte integral en oncolog\u00eda.
