Donoghue destac\u00f3 que \u201cla Corte rechaza la solicitud hecha por la rep\u00fablica de Nicaragua en la que busca que se declare que los l\u00edmites mar\u00edtimos entre Nicaragua y Colombia en las \u00e1reas de las partes continentales le pertenecen\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Con esta nueva decisi\u00f3n de la Corte Internacional, con una votaci\u00f3n de 13 votos y con 4 en contra, se mantienen los l\u00edmites que se hab\u00edan fijado en el fallo de 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Colombia vs Nicaragua: el origen de la disputa mar\u00edtima<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cabe destacar que Nicaragua hab\u00eda reclamado que tiene derecho a extender su plataforma continental sobre las 200 millas n\u00e1uticas contada desde la costa, lo que se ampliar\u00eda hasta el mar que hasta el momento es de Colombia. Asimismo, solicit\u00f3 una limitaci\u00f3n entre la plataforma que est\u00e1 reclamando y el \u00e1rea continental colombiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En esta misma medida, el pa\u00eds centroamericano hab\u00eda manifestado que la extensi\u00f3n se ubica por debajo de la zona econ\u00f3mica de Colombia, lo que representa las aguas m\u00e1s profundas, donde tiene soberan\u00eda el gobierno colombiano y jurisdicci\u00f3n para pescar y administrar recursos naturales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al respecto, el presidente colombiano, Gustavo Petro mencion\u00f3 que \u00abuna naci\u00f3n defiende sus mares, defiende sus cielos, defiende sus tierras, dependiendo incluso de su capacidad pol\u00edtica y militar\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan con el derecho internacional, todos los Estados tienen derecho a 12 millas de zona mar\u00edtima territorial, 12 millas de zona contigua y 200 millas n\u00e1uticas de zona econ\u00f3mica exclusiva, que es donde pueden ejercer derechos de exploraci\u00f3n y explotaci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica de todos los recursos naturales vivos (pesca) y no vivos (miner\u00eda).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La jueza Joan E.
