Durante a\u00f1os, dedic\u00f3 su vida a la b\u00fasqueda de personas desaparecidas, entre ellas su hermano, a quien no se tiene rastro desde hace m\u00e1s de 15 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Puentes Vega lideraba plataformas de derechos humanos y hac\u00eda parte de un grupo de mujeres buscadoras que trabajaban especialmente en el norte del departamento. Tambi\u00e9n se desempe\u00f1aba como presidenta de la Junta de Acci\u00f3n Comunal, desde donde impulsaba procesos comunitarios y de memoria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Oficina del Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas para los Derechos Humanos en Colombia conden\u00f3 el crimen y reiter\u00f3 la necesidad de garantizar la protecci\u00f3n de la poblaci\u00f3n civil. \u201cEs urgente la adopci\u00f3n de medidas de protecci\u00f3n (\u2026) que permitan garantizar los derechos de las comunidades rurales\u201d, expres\u00f3 el organismo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tras el asesinato, el Ej\u00e9rcito Nacional inform\u00f3 que captur\u00f3 a dos presuntos integrantes de las disidencias de las FARC, quienes estar\u00edan involucrados en el homicidio. Las detenciones ocurrieron luego de combates en la vereda Nueva Reforma, zona rural de Baraya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan el coronel Henry Herrera, comandante de la Novena Brigada, los enfrentamientos se dieron contra miembros del bloque \u2018Jorge Su\u00e1rez Brice\u00f1o\u2019. En la operaci\u00f3n fueron incautadas varias armas de fuego, municiones, un celular y una motocicleta, elementos que ahora hacen parte del proceso investigativo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Ej\u00e9rcito se\u00f1al\u00f3 que los hechos constituyen una grave violaci\u00f3n al derecho internacional humanitario y asegur\u00f3 que ya fueron puestos en conocimiento de las autoridades judiciales.
