Afirm\u00f3 que, de no actuar, \u201cla humanidad debe dar una respuesta y construir otro organismo multilateral\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Desde Sevilla, Espa\u00f1a, Petro cuestion\u00f3 fuertemente el papel del FMI y denunci\u00f3 su inacci\u00f3n ante propuestas concretas sobre la transformaci\u00f3n del sistema financiero global. Seg\u00fan \u00e9l, no se est\u00e1n debatiendo temas clave planteados por actores como el Vaticano y pa\u00edses como Kenia, Francia, Alemania y Colombia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El mandatario critic\u00f3 la ausencia de figuras relevantes como Kristalina Georgieva, directora del FMI, y la representaci\u00f3n pasiva de Estados Unidos en el evento. Se\u00f1al\u00f3 que el discurso del vocero del organismo fue irrelevante y denunci\u00f3 que su pa\u00eds sufre actualmente las consecuencias de una deuda mal negociada con el FMI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Petro inst\u00f3 al organismo a revisar la emisi\u00f3n de Derechos Especiales de Giro (DEG) como v\u00eda para reducir las deudas de los pa\u00edses y destinar esos recursos a proyectos que mitiguen la crisis clim\u00e1tica. Afirm\u00f3 que el FMI deber\u00eda permitir el uso de esa reducci\u00f3n como espacio presupuestal para financiar iniciativas ambientales urgentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finalmente, critic\u00f3 el hecho de que econom\u00edas como Brasil, con la selva amaz\u00f3nica, sean consideradas de mayor riesgo que contaminadores hist\u00f3ricos como Estados Unidos o China.
