En el D\u00eda del Clima, celebrado en el marco de la Semana Ambiental, autoridades regionales y expertos nacionales coincidieron en que el Huila es uno de los departamentos m\u00e1s vulnerables al cambio clim\u00e1tico en Colombia. Seg\u00fan el director de la CAM, Camilo Augusto Agudelo, hacia finales de siglo la regi\u00f3n podr\u00eda registrar un aumento de hasta dos grados cent\u00edgrados en la temperatura, con veranos m\u00e1s intensos y lluvias m\u00e1s cr\u00edticas, lo que impactar\u00e1 la biodiversidad, la salud y la producci\u00f3n agropecuaria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La jornada acad\u00e9mica reuni\u00f3 a instituciones, gremios y organizaciones sociales alrededor de un mismo interrogante: c\u00f3mo adaptarse a los cambios clim\u00e1ticos y qu\u00e9 decisiones deben tomarse desde ahora. Lina Obando, del IDEAM, advirti\u00f3 que las proyecciones muestran un alza sostenida de la temperatura en el departamento, con m\u00e1s episodios de sequ\u00eda e inundaciones. \u201cNo son pron\u00f3sticos, son escenarios que dependen de nuestras acciones locales y globales\u201d, subray\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frente a esta situaci\u00f3n, la CAM destac\u00f3 tres ejes de acci\u00f3n: la protecci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 600 mil hect\u00e1reas en \u00e1reas naturales y especies estrat\u00e9gicas, la gesti\u00f3n del recurso h\u00eddrico mediante planes de manejo de cuencas, y el fortalecimiento de la gesti\u00f3n del riesgo, con estudios de vulnerabilidad en 28 municipios. No obstante, persisten desaf\u00edos como la deforestaci\u00f3n, el uso ineficiente del agua en sistemas productivos y la construcci\u00f3n en zonas de riesgo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El sector agr\u00edcola, uno de los m\u00e1s afectados por el clima, fue otro de los temas centrales. Jorge Guti\u00e9rrez, de la FAO, explic\u00f3 que el aumento de la temperatura genera m\u00e1s plagas y enfermedades en los cultivos. En Pitalito, mujeres caficultoras trabajan en el Proyecto Scala, implementando pr\u00e1cticas agr\u00edcolas resilientes al cambio clim\u00e1tico que buscan certificaci\u00f3n internacional y se proyectan como un modelo global de adaptaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La jornada concluy\u00f3 con un llamado a actuar con urgencia. \u201cDebemos tomar decisiones de fondo y reales para mitigar los efectos del cambio clim\u00e1tico sobre la biodiversidad, el agua, la salud y la infraestructura\u201d, recalc\u00f3 Agudelo. Por su parte, la FAO insisti\u00f3 en que la sostenibilidad del campo huilense depender\u00e1 de la capacidad de los agricultores para adaptarse y articularse con otros actores en defensa del territorio.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
