El Banco de Tejidos Humanos del Huila (Bantejidos) present\u00f3 ante la Asamblea Departamental un balance de su labor y reiter\u00f3 la importancia de promover la cultura de la donaci\u00f3n en el sur del pa\u00eds. El espacio se desarroll\u00f3 en el marco de una sesi\u00f3n extraordinaria que cont\u00f3 con la participaci\u00f3n de diputados y ciudadan\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El presidente de la Asamblea, Sergio Trujillo, destac\u00f3 los avances logrados por Bantejidos, al pasar de pocos procedimientos en 2018 a 85 en 2024. Asegur\u00f3 que el trabajo de la instituci\u00f3n ser\u00e1 respaldado para hacerlo m\u00e1s visible y competitivo a nivel nacional e internacional. \u201cVamos a acompa\u00f1arlos en este esfuerzo que representa esperanza de vida para muchos colombianos\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Durante la socializaci\u00f3n se explic\u00f3 que la entidad rescata, procesa, almacena y distribuye tejidos humanos para fines terap\u00e9uticos y de trasplante. Entre los tejidos que actualmente pueden ser donados est\u00e1n c\u00f3rneas, esclera, membrana amni\u00f3tica, piel y dermis acelular, los cuales permiten recuperar funciones y mejorar la calidad de vida de los pacientes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La directora ejecutiva de Bantejidos, Gloria Mercedes Celis Victoria, record\u00f3 que en Colombia la Ley 1805 de 2016 presume a todos los ciudadanos como donantes, salvo manifestaci\u00f3n expresa en contrario. Sin embargo, persiste el desconocimiento, lo que genera oposici\u00f3n por parte de familiares en los procesos de donaci\u00f3n. Por ello, insisti\u00f3 en la importancia de dialogar en los hogares y tomar decisiones informadas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La jornada concluy\u00f3 con un llamado a la conciencia colectiva: abrir espacios de educaci\u00f3n y conversaci\u00f3n sobre la donaci\u00f3n, fortalecer la confianza en el sistema y permitir que m\u00e1s personas puedan beneficiarse de este acto altruista.
