La decisi\u00f3n fue comunicada por el gerente del Banco de la Rep\u00fablica, Leonardo Villar, y el ministro de Hacienda, Germ\u00e1n \u00c1vila Plazas, quienes se\u00f1alaron que el acceso a los recursos hab\u00eda sido suspendido por el organismo desde abril de 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La LCF aprobada por el FMI ten\u00eda un plazo de dos a\u00f1os y un monto de 6.133,5 millones de Derechos Especiales de Giro, equivalente a unos 8.100 millones de d\u00f3lares al momento de su aprobaci\u00f3n. Seg\u00fan el Ministerio de Hacienda y el Emisor, este acuerdo se conceb\u00eda como un instrumento precautorio para enfrentar riesgos externos, pero las condiciones actuales de liquidez del pa\u00eds hacen innecesario mantenerlo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El presidente Gustavo Petro celebr\u00f3 la decisi\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de la red social X, donde afirm\u00f3 que \u201chemos cumplido con el cr\u00e9dito que tom\u00f3 Duque de manera irresponsable con el FMI; durante tres a\u00f1os le pagamos USD $5.000 millones y a partir del 1 de enero saldamos totalmente la deuda\u201d. Petro tambi\u00e9n record\u00f3 que el d\u00e9ficit generado por el subsidio a la gasolina ya fue cubierto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las autoridades econ\u00f3micas enfatizaron que la cancelaci\u00f3n no modifica el cronograma de pagos del desembolso efectuado en 2020, cuya \u00faltima cuota se cumplir\u00e1 en diciembre de 2025. Destacaron adem\u00e1s que las reservas internacionales alcanzan hoy los 65,5 mil millones de d\u00f3lares, gracias al programa de acumulaci\u00f3n y a la rentabilidad de los portafolios en 2024 y 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tanto el ministro de Hacienda como el gerente del Banco de la Rep\u00fablica coincidieron en que la l\u00ednea de cr\u00e9dito estaba dise\u00f1ada para situaciones extraordinarias que no enfrenta hoy el pa\u00eds.
