El hallazgo de un ejemplar de Caim\u00e1n del Magdalena (Crocodylus acutus<\/em>) en una granja pisc\u00edcola de Villavieja impuls\u00f3 una alianza entre la CAM y la empresa Pisc\u00edcola Botero S.A., orientada a proteger esta especie amenazada mediante investigaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica y tecnolog\u00eda de punta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El convenio busca garantizar el manejo responsable del individuo encontrado y fortalecer la conservaci\u00f3n de su poblaci\u00f3n en el territorio huilense. Expertos de la CAM confirmaron que el animal, un subadulto de 1,5 metros, ser\u00e1 trasladado a un \u00e1rea segura, como parte de un proceso t\u00e9cnico de translocaci\u00f3n dise\u00f1ado para salvaguardar tanto a las personas como al ejemplar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigadores de la Universidad de la Florida acompa\u00f1ar\u00e1n el estudio \u201cEvaluaci\u00f3n del proceso de translocaci\u00f3n de Caimanes aguja en territorio huilense\u201d<\/em>, mediante el uso de transmisores satelitales que permitir\u00e1n conocer el desplazamiento, supervivencia y adaptaci\u00f3n de los caimanes en su nuevo entorno. Esta informaci\u00f3n servir\u00e1 para ajustar los protocolos de conservaci\u00f3n en la regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La empresa Pisc\u00edcola Botero asumir\u00e1 los costos de los transmisores, materiales, transporte y log\u00edstica del proyecto, reafirmando su compromiso con la sostenibilidad ambiental. \u201cEstamos demostrando que es posible producir y conservar al mismo tiempo\u201d, asegur\u00f3 Yuli Fabiola Hern\u00e1ndez Guerrero, gerente de la compa\u00f1\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Con esta iniciativa, la CAM refuerza el Plan de Conservaci\u00f3n de Especies Amenazadas del Huila y promueve la participaci\u00f3n del sector privado en la gesti\u00f3n de la biodiversidad.
