La medida se da en medio de un contexto de tensi\u00f3n regional marcado por el despliegue militar de Estados Unidos en el mar Caribe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durante un contacto con el canal estatal Venezolana de Televisi\u00f3n (VTV), el mandatario explic\u00f3 que la estrategia contempla la activaci\u00f3n de las <strong>Zonas Operativas de Defensa Integral (ZODI)<\/strong> en sectores lim\u00edtrofes con Colombia, como parte de un plan que comenz\u00f3 a implementarse progresivamente en regiones costeras y del Caribe desde hace una semana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maduro asegur\u00f3 que el objetivo del plan es garantizar la paz nacional y la preparaci\u00f3n del pueblo para la defensa del territorio. \u201cEstamos ganando la paz, zona por zona, territorio por territorio (&#8230;). Venezuela hoy se transforma en un ejemplo de dignidad, de valent\u00eda y de trabajo\u201d, manifest\u00f3. Tambi\u00e9n inst\u00f3 a los ciudadanos, militares y polic\u00edas a proteger monta\u00f1as, costas, escuelas, hospitales y f\u00e1bricas como parte del esfuerzo conjunto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El mandatario indic\u00f3 que este mi\u00e9rcoles tambi\u00e9n se activ\u00f3 el plan en <strong>Caracas y el estado Miranda<\/strong>, donde habitan cerca de siete millones de personas. En esa regi\u00f3n, el ministro de Interior, <strong>Diosdado Cabello<\/strong>, encabez\u00f3 movilizaciones y afirm\u00f3 que el pa\u00eds se mantiene \u201cen resistencia activa y prolongada\u201d frente al \u201casedio del imperialismo\u201d, en referencia al Gobierno de Estados Unidos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Washington, por su parte, ha justificado su presencia militar en el Caribe como parte de una operaci\u00f3n contra el narcotr\u00e1fico procedente de Sudam\u00e9rica.
