El presidente de Venezuela, Nicol\u00e1s Maduro<\/strong>, pas\u00f3 su primera noche en el Metropolitan Detention Center de Brooklyn<\/strong>, en Nueva York, luego de ser capturado menos de 24 horas antes por autoridades de Estados Unidos durante una operaci\u00f3n ejecutada en Caracas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tras su arresto, el Tribunal Supremo de Venezuela<\/strong> orden\u00f3 que la vicepresidenta Delcy Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong> asumiera de manera provisional la presidencia del pa\u00eds, mientras se define el futuro pol\u00edtico de la naci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maduro fue detenido en la madrugada del s\u00e1bado en una acci\u00f3n rel\u00e1mpago denominada \u201cResoluci\u00f3n Absoluta\u201d<\/strong>, dirigida por agencias de seguridad estadounidenses. En la operaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n fue arrestada su esposa, Cilia Flores<\/strong>, quien habr\u00eda sido trasladada junto a \u00e9l a territorio norteamericano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El mandatario lleg\u00f3 bajo estrictas medidas de seguridad a la Base de la Guardia Nacional A\u00e9rea de Stewart<\/strong>, en el norte del estado de Nueva York, antes de ser llevado a una instalaci\u00f3n federal vinculada a la Agencia Antidroga de Estados Unidos (DEA)<\/strong>, donde fue procesado formalmente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Posteriormente, fue ingresado al centro de detenci\u00f3n federal de Brooklyn<\/strong>, donde permanece recluido mientras enfrenta cargos por narcotr\u00e1fico y corrupci\u00f3n<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Casa Blanca<\/strong> difundi\u00f3 im\u00e1genes del arresto y traslado del l\u00edder venezolano, en las que se observa a Maduro caminando por un pasillo cubierto con una alfombra azul marcada con las siglas \u201cDEA NYD\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
