La detenci\u00f3n se produjo cuando el exdirigente fue requerido por uniformados de la Polic\u00eda en un puesto de control sobre la v\u00eda Oriental, en jurisdicci\u00f3n del municipio de <strong>Ponedera<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De acuerdo con la informaci\u00f3n oficial, los agentes verificaron su identidad y confirmaron en el sistema judicial una <strong>orden de captura vigente<\/strong> emitida por el <strong>Juzgado Penal del Circuito Especializado 5 de Cundinamarca<\/strong>, con el fin de hacer efectiva la <strong>pena de nueve a\u00f1os de prisi\u00f3n<\/strong> ratificada por la <strong>Sala de Casaci\u00f3n Penal de la Corte Suprema de Justicia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEn desarrollo de procedimientos de control y registro, se verific\u00f3 que el ciudadano Jorge Visbal Martelo ten\u00eda una orden judicial por concierto para delinquir agravado\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3 la <strong>Polic\u00eda Nacional<\/strong> en un comunicado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tras su aprehensi\u00f3n, Visbal Martelo fue <strong>trasladado a Bogot\u00e1<\/strong>, donde deber\u00e1 iniciar el cumplimiento de la condena. El alto tribunal confirm\u00f3 las decisiones previas que lo hallaron responsable de mantener <strong>nexos con estructuras armadas ilegales<\/strong> durante su trayectoria como dirigente gremial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan el fallo, los hechos ocurrieron entre <strong>1998 y 2005<\/strong>, periodo en el que el exsenador ejerci\u00f3 altos cargos en el sector ganadero y particip\u00f3 en espacios institucionales relacionados con la b\u00fasqueda de la paz. Durante esos a\u00f1os, la justicia determin\u00f3 que <strong>sostuvo contactos con miembros de las Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia (AUC)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Corte Suprema concluy\u00f3 que <strong>utiliz\u00f3 su posici\u00f3n de poder e influencia<\/strong> para favorecer a ese grupo armado, incurriendo en una conducta penalmente reprochable.
