Aunque se registraron siniestros que incluso terminaron en la perdida de la vida de personas, el n\u00famero se redujo notablemente en comparaci\u00f3n con el 2019, siendo el resultado de las decisiones que se adoptaron para mejorar el tr\u00e1nsito en la ciudad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elberto Garavito, jefe de la dependencia, se mostr\u00f3 satisfecho con los datos que se registraron. \u201cEn medio de la pandemia y el a\u00f1o que acaba de terminar,<strong> lo positivo son las cifras de accidentalidad vial, teniendo en cuenta la reducci\u00f3n en fallecidos<\/strong>, donde llegamos casi al 45%; es un alto porcentaje. Hay algo muy significativo en estas cifras y es que la media nacional hasta el mes de noviembre estaba en el 20%, nosotros estamos a un poco m\u00e1s del doble\u00bb, indic\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El funcionario resalt\u00f3 el trabajo que realiz\u00f3 la administraci\u00f3n Primero Neiva en materia de controles operativos con los guardas, pero tambi\u00e9n de la pedagog\u00eda que se realiz\u00f3 con la ciudadan\u00eda, sobre la importancia de respetar las normas de tr\u00e1nsito, como una forma de evitar que se presenten accidentes y por ende, perder vidas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cifras de accidentalidad<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El a\u00f1o 2019 <strong>cerr\u00f3 con 55 fallecidos en las v\u00edas del municipio<\/strong>, mientras que en el 2020, se presentaron 31 casos; en cuanto a da\u00f1os, las cifras tambi\u00e9n son significativas, de 765 en 2019, se redujo a 407; en heridos de 457 en el 2019, se pas\u00f3 a 333 en el a\u00f1o anterior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las cifras m\u00e1s significativas se registraron en los usuarios de motocicleta, donde generalmente hay m\u00e1s siniestralidad, seg\u00fan los datos a nivel nacional y en la que <strong>Neiva logr\u00f3 una reducci\u00f3n del 54.8%.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNosotros venimos trabajando en insistir a las personas que si se cumple con las normas de tr\u00e1nsito, habr\u00e1 menos posibilidades de sufrir alg\u00fan percance vial, y es a eso que le estamos apuntando a la educaci\u00f3n, acompa\u00f1ada de control, porque una cosa funciona con la otra.
