La situaci\u00f3n gener\u00f3 cuestionamientos sobre la pertinencia de la asignaci\u00f3n de estos veh\u00edculos por parte del Gobierno Nacional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ante la controversia, el Ministerio de Salud explic\u00f3 que los equipos buscan fortalecer la red de atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica en el norte de La Guajira, especialmente en las zonas m\u00e1s apartadas y de dif\u00edcil acceso durante la temporada de lluvias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan la cartera, el Hospital San Jos\u00e9 de Maicao cumple un papel estrat\u00e9gico dentro del sistema de referencia y contrarreferencia del departamento, atendiendo pacientes de Uribia, Manaure, Albania y del propio Maicao. Por ello, fue designado para operar este tipo de ambulancias medicalizadas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAl ser el \u00fanico hospital de mediana complejidad en esta zona del departamento, el Hospital San Jos\u00e9 de Maicao se encuentra plenamente facultado para operar este tipo de veh\u00edculos, que permitir\u00e1n una atenci\u00f3n m\u00e1s r\u00e1pida y efectiva\u201d, indic\u00f3 el Ministerio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las ambulancias mar\u00edtimas partir\u00e1n desde los puertos de Estrella y Bah\u00eda Honda, habilitados como puntos de recepci\u00f3n en la alta Guajira.
