La falta de recursos, explic\u00f3, oblig\u00f3 a <strong>reducir la presencia del ACNUDH en 17 pa\u00edses<\/strong> y a ejecutar <strong>menos de la mitad de las misiones de monitoreo<\/strong> respecto al a\u00f1o anterior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El alto comisionado subray\u00f3 que, pese a las limitaciones, la oficina sigue desempe\u00f1ando un papel esencial al <strong>proporcionar informaci\u00f3n confiable sobre violaciones y avances en materia de derechos humanos<\/strong>, en un contexto global marcado por la desinformaci\u00f3n y la censura. \u201cEste monto nos permitir\u00e1 defender todos los derechos \u2014civiles, pol\u00edticos, sociales, culturales y econ\u00f3micos\u2014 de todas y todos\u201d, a\u00f1adi\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durante 2025, la oficina \u2014que cuenta con <strong>1.275 empleados en 87 pa\u00edses<\/strong>\u2014 realiz\u00f3 <strong>m\u00e1s de 5.000 misiones de monitoreo<\/strong> y brind\u00f3 apoyo directo a <strong>67.000 sobrevivientes de tortura y esclavitud moderna<\/strong>, adem\u00e1s de contribuir a la <strong>liberaci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 4.000 personas detenidas arbitrariamente<\/strong>, mil m\u00e1s que el a\u00f1o anterior. Tambi\u00e9n document\u00f3 <strong>miles de violaciones de derechos humanos<\/strong>, incluidas agresiones contra periodistas y activistas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El <strong>secretario general de la ONU, Ant\u00f3nio Guterres<\/strong>, ya hab\u00eda advertido sobre un <strong>\u201ccolapso financiero inminente\u201d<\/strong> de la organizaci\u00f3n si los Estados miembros, especialmente <strong>Estados Unidos<\/strong>, no cumplen con sus compromisos econ\u00f3micos.
