{"id":94434,"date":"2026-02-25T10:11:21","date_gmt":"2026-02-25T15:11:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/luchonoticias.com\/editor\/?p=94434"},"modified":"2026-02-25T10:11:22","modified_gmt":"2026-02-25T15:11:22","slug":"ideam-hace-seguimiento-a-llegada-de-polvo-del-sahara-a-colombia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/luchonoticias.com\/editor\/ideam-hace-seguimiento-a-llegada-de-polvo-del-sahara-a-colombia\/","title":{"rendered":"IDEAM hace seguimiento a llegada de polvo del Sahara a Colombia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>El <strong>Instituto de Hidrolog\u00eda, Meteorolog\u00eda y Estudios Ambientales (Ideam)<\/strong> inform\u00f3 que contin\u00faa con el monitoreo permanente de las condiciones atmosf\u00e9ricas relacionadas con el transporte de polvo del Sahara hacia el Caribe colombiano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De acuerdo con la <strong>teniente coronel Carolina Rueda<\/strong>, subdirectora de Meteorolog\u00eda del Ideam, actualmente se registran <strong>incrementos significativos de polvo sahariano sobre el continente africano<\/strong>, aunque las concentraciones que han llegado a Colombia en los \u00faltimos d\u00edas son m\u00ednimas. \u201cHasta ahora no se han generado impactos relevantes en el territorio nacional. En los \u00faltimos tres d\u00edas han ingresado cantidades reducidas sobre la costa Caribe, y no se prev\u00e9 una mayor afectaci\u00f3n durante los pr\u00f3ximos d\u00edas\u201d, precis\u00f3 la funcionaria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Ideam explic\u00f3 que este fen\u00f3meno suele intensificarse a partir de abril, con <strong>picos principales entre julio y agosto<\/strong>, y una disminuci\u00f3n progresiva hacia septiembre. Durante estos meses, las masas de aire c\u00e1lido y seco provenientes del desierto africano recorren miles de kil\u00f3metros impulsadas por los vientos alisios, alcanzando el Caribe y partes del continente americano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La entidad destac\u00f3 que el <strong>polvo del Sahara<\/strong> est\u00e1 compuesto por part\u00edculas minerales muy finas \u2014ricas en silicatos y otros compuestos\u2014 que hacen parte de la <strong>Capa de Aire Sahariana (SAL, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s)<\/strong>. Este fen\u00f3meno natural tiene efectos tanto positivos como negativos: puede afectar la <strong>calidad del aire<\/strong> y la <strong>salud respiratoria<\/strong>, pero tambi\u00e9n aporta <strong>nutrientes que fertilizan suelos y oc\u00e9anos<\/strong>, influyendo incluso en la formaci\u00f3n de nubes y lluvias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan estudios de la <strong>NASA<\/strong>, la presencia de polvo sahariano puede generar bruma o calima, reducir la visibilidad y provocar irritaciones en ojos, piel y v\u00edas respiratorias, especialmente en personas con enfermedades pulmonares. En el \u00e1mbito clim\u00e1tico, el aire seco que lo acompa\u00f1a puede disminuir las precipitaciones, mientras que su composici\u00f3n mineral enriquece ecosistemas marinos y terrestres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Ideam reiter\u00f3 que, por el momento, <strong>no se esperan afectaciones significativas en el pa\u00eds<\/strong>, e hizo un llamado a la ciudadan\u00eda a mantenerse informada a trav\u00e9s de los <strong>canales oficiales<\/strong>.
