{"id":94475,"date":"2026-02-26T04:30:19","date_gmt":"2026-02-26T09:30:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/luchonoticias.com\/editor\/?p=94475"},"modified":"2026-02-26T04:30:20","modified_gmt":"2026-02-26T09:30:20","slug":"nicolas-maduro-con-problemas-para-pagar-su-defensa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/luchonoticias.com\/editor\/nicolas-maduro-con-problemas-para-pagar-su-defensa\/","title":{"rendered":"Nicol\u00e1s Maduro, con problemas para pagar su defensa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Barry Pollack, abogado principal del presidente depuesto de Venezuela, Nicol\u00e1s Maduro, denunci\u00f3 ante un tribunal federal en Nueva York que el Gobierno de Estados Unidos bloque\u00f3 una licencia clave que permitir\u00eda al Estado venezolano pagar su defensa legal.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En una carta fechada el <strong>20 de febrero<\/strong> y dirigida al juez <strong>Alvin Hellerstein<\/strong>, quien lleva el caso contra Maduro, Pollack explic\u00f3 que la <strong>Oficina de Control de Activos Extranjeros (OFAC)<\/strong> del Departamento del Tesoro \u2014responsable de la aplicaci\u00f3n de sanciones estadounidenses\u2014 concedi\u00f3 el <strong>9 de enero<\/strong> una licencia que autorizaba la recepci\u00f3n de fondos desde Venezuela para cubrir los costos de la defensa. Sin embargo, <strong>pocas horas despu\u00e9s esa autorizaci\u00f3n fue modificada y dej\u00f3 sin efecto el pago desde Caracas<\/strong>, seg\u00fan el abogado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pollack sostuvo que, al impedir que el Gobierno venezolano cubra los honorarios legales, la OFAC <strong>est\u00e1 interfiriendo con el derecho constitucional de Maduro a contar con un abogado de su elecci\u00f3n<\/strong>, protegido por la <strong>Sexta Enmienda estadounidense,<\/strong> y que, de no restablecerse la licencia original, Maduro no tiene otra forma de financiar su defensa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El abogado tambi\u00e9n indic\u00f3 que el <strong>11 de febrero<\/strong> solicit\u00f3 formalmente a la OFAC restituir la licencia inicial, pero <strong>no ha recibido respuesta<\/strong>, pese a que la agencia ha autorizado otras transacciones comerciales vinculadas a Venezuela recientemente.
