Ante el incremento en la probabilidad de que el fen\u00f3meno de El Ni\u00f1o se consolide durante los pr\u00f3ximos meses, la CAM emiti\u00f3 una alerta preventiva para que municipios, empresas de acueducto y organizaciones comunitarias adopten medidas que permitan garantizar el suministro de agua en el departamento del Huila.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La corporaci\u00f3n se\u00f1al\u00f3 que la disminuci\u00f3n de las lluvias, el aumento de las temperaturas y el riesgo creciente de incendios forestales podr\u00edan generar una mayor presi\u00f3n sobre las fuentes abastecedoras, especialmente en sistemas con baja capacidad de almacenamiento o alta dependencia de corrientes superficiales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Como primera medida, la autoridad ambiental recomend\u00f3 restringir temporalmente actividades consideradas no prioritarias para el consumo humano, entre ellas el llenado de piscinas, el lavado de veh\u00edculos con manguera y el uso de agua potable para jardines, fachadas y zonas duras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asimismo, solicit\u00f3 a los operadores de acueducto fortalecer los controles sobre caudales, reducir p\u00e9rdidas en las redes de distribuci\u00f3n, atender fugas de manera inmediata y actualizar la informaci\u00f3n relacionada con el consumo y disponibilidad del recurso. Tambi\u00e9n pidi\u00f3 revisar los planes de ahorro de agua y evaluar posibles escenarios de racionamiento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La CAM insisti\u00f3 en que los municipios deben revisar y activar sus planes de contingencia, identificar fuentes alternas de abastecimiento y coordinar acciones con organismos de socorro y gesti\u00f3n del riesgo. Seg\u00fan la entidad, estas herramientas ser\u00e1n fundamentales si se presentan reducciones significativas en los caudales o interrupciones del servicio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El subdirector Juan Carlos Ortiz destac\u00f3 que algunas zonas del norte del Huila requieren una vigilancia especial debido a su vulnerabilidad frente a la escasez h\u00eddrica. Sin embargo, advirti\u00f3 que en varios municipios los problemas obedecen tambi\u00e9n a fallas en los sistemas de acueducto. Por ello, la CAM llam\u00f3 a fortalecer la gesti\u00f3n institucional y la participaci\u00f3n ciudadana para proteger las fuentes de agua y prevenir emergencias durante la temporada seca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
